Under the mission critical data center monitoring cases, there are various physical threats distributed anywhere throughout the data centers depending on room layout and equipment positions. Thus, it is important for the data center service providers to equip themselves to remote monitor these threats effectively.

These include power failure, air quality threats (i.e. temperature and humidity) to the IT equipments, smoke and fire from data center hazards, liquid leaks from base pipes, human unusual activities for e.g. unauthorized access with malicious intent and etc.

Whenever there is such physical threats to be detected, it will send out predefined SMS alert to the relevant site personnel and the wireless central monitoring station (CMS) PC at the data center service provider office. TMN-1000 output can be also set to activate an output device for e.g. flash light to attract the attention at site.

A wireless CMS need not need to be expensive and sophisticated. It can be as simple and low cost like one normal PC with preinstalled TMAS PC Manager and a piece of TMA-T35i GSM modem.

Other plus points of such CMS is the generated alarm report history to measure the mean time to response time and mean time to repair for statistics purpose so as to further evaluate the performance of equipments used in the data centers for e.g. air conditioner. This will continually improve the data center service quality standard and reliability. Additionally, it gives a peace of mind to the service provider.
